At the top of 2022 and in the wake of a breakup, I left Melbourne for a creative hideaway in Rye Ocean Beach to create my album. I absorbed the inspiration of my surroundings and composed on acoustic guitar. Ultimately, It comes out of isolation with an ability to connect more than ever. Exploring themes of growth and navigating change on "A Turning of the Tide", it's all about changing times, and looking positively to the future.
lyrics
So I’m coming around to the reality
Of just what went down from the passenger seat
I’m hearing you now, a bit of clarity
So I’m gonna skip out, yeah I guess that’s it
Have you said what you needed to?
You could have stayed if you wanted to
Don’t remember the drive but remember the wheel
It’s a bit like we were, only half on our heels
I hope you’re feeling happier cause you said you weren’t that
I guess I could be happier, I got a future to look at
Have you said what you needed to?
You could have stayed if you wanted to
If you wanted to
It’s just a turning of the tide
It’s just a turning of the tide
It’s just a turning of the tide
Have you said what you needed to?
Stay if you want to
Guess you’ve said what you needed to
You could have stayed if you wanted to
